Adoul for Marriage in Morocco (Mixed Marriages)
An Adoul is an official authorized to handle the legal steps of marriage in Morocco.
Think of them like a marriage lawyer: they manage your paperwork, submit it to the court, and write your marriage contract once everything is approved.
What the Adoul Does
The adoul is responsible for:
Reviewing and accepting your marriage documents
Submitting your file to the Moroccan court
Staying in contact with the court
Informing you when your police interview is scheduled
Answering your questions during the process
Collecting your Permission to Marry from the court
Writing and finalizing your Marriage Contract
Providing copies of the contract to both spouses
Where You Can Marry
You must use an adoul located in the same city as your Moroccan partner’s ID card (CIN).
That’s also the city where your marriage will take place — you cannot choose another location.
How Much Does an Adoul Cost?
Prices vary depending on the city, but generally range from:
800 to 1,500 dirhams
⚠️ Some adouls may try to charge higher prices to foreigners.
We recommend checking with 2–3 adouls to compare and avoid being overcharged.
How to Find an Adoul
❣️Before Coming to Morocco
If possible, ask your Moroccan partner (or their family) to find and speak with an adoul in advance.
They can:
Negotiate a fair price
Confirm availability
Speed up the process when you arrive
❣️After Arriving in Morocco
If not arranged beforehand, you can visit adouls together once you're in Morocco.
Speak with a few to compare offers
Don’t accept the first quote — take time to find someone trustworthy and fair
